Basking in the reputation generated by such suspense/horror films like Dilim and Ouija, it comes as a surprise of sort to find director Topel Lee helming Regal Entertainment, Inc.’s new offering My Kuya’s Wedding. The film is straight-out light comedy, touching on the Filipino’s fascination with the ritual of weddings, and the bonds created within the nuclear family. From my conversation with producer and co-story writer Roselle Monteverde-Teo, this was Topel’s fervent wish — to direct a comedy film, and Regal can be happy with the gamble/result.
